Minted Melon Iced Honey Green Tea Recipe


  • 6 chunks honeydew melon (about 1-1/2 inches square)
  • 15 large fresh mint leaves
  • 1 bottle Pure Leaf™ Not Too Sweet Honey Green Tea


Method: Crush honeydew and mint with wooden spoon in 1-quart glass measuring cup. Stir in Pure Leaf™ Not Too Sweet Honey Green Tea. Strain and serve over ice. Garnish, if desired, with additional honeydew and mint sprigs.

For a pitcher, simply double the recipe. For a cocktail version, simply add 1/4 cup vodka.

    • 5 cups water
    • 2 1/2-inch piece of fresh ginger (unpeeled is okay), coarsely chopped
    • 3 tablespoons honey
    • 6 bags of green tea
    • Mint sprigs (optional)
    1. 1. Place 2 cups water and the ginger into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the honey. Remove the pan from heat and add the tea bags. Steep for 3 minutes, and then strain out all the solids.
    2. 2. In a large pitcher combine the strained tea with the remaining 3 cups water. Chill in the refrigerator. Serve over ice, garnished with mint sprigs, if using.

    Strawberry Lemonade Iced Tea


    8 tsp of strawberry lemonade tea

    1. Brew your tea for at least 4 minutes and sweeten with sugar/honey if desired.

    2. Strain and place in the fridge to cool. Alternatively, you can put the steeping tea in the fridge overnight and strain the next day for an extra strong taste.

    3. Slice the lemons and strawberries.

    4. When ready to serve, pour ½ tea, ½ sparkling water over a glass full of ice and garnish with slices of lemon and strawberries. Stir well.

    6. For an extra special touch, serve in champagne flute – or for a summer party, make up a pitcher or two.

    Powdered Green Tea: Konacha

    Powdered green tea can be made from several different varieties of tea, but the one most commonly used is konacha. It’s probably the powdered green tea that most Americans are familiar with, as it’s often the type served in sushi bars. Most of the time, the green tea powder made from konacha is sealed in tea bags, but it’s also available in loose form.

    Konacha is considered to be inferior to matcha green tea powder. It’s produced from the “leftovers” of the processing procedures of more expensive types of green tea, like gyokuro and sencha. For konacha, the tiny tea leaves, the buds, and even the remaining particles of dust are used. In color, it’s dark green, and it has a strong flavor that’s somewhat astringent in nature.

    • Green- Tea -Cranberry- Spritzer-image
    • Green Tea Bags- 4
      Cranberry juice- ½ cup
    • Seltzer (Chilled)- 3 cups
    • Sugar- 1/3 cup
    • Water- 1/3 cup

    Heat water in a saucepan and add sugar to this boiled water. Stir it until the sugar completely dissolves. After it gets completely cooled steep the tea bags in 2 cups of boiling water for 2 minutes. Remove bags and cool it completely. Add Cranberry juice and divide the tea into four different ice-filled glasses. Top it with chilled seltzer and is now ready to serve. enjoy Cranberry Spritzer green tea for weight loss.

    In a medium-sized pot, combine the water and ginger slices. Bring to a boil. Once the water boils, remove from heat and add the tea bags and mint leaves. Cover the pot and steep for about 15 minutes.

    Strain the brewed tea separating the liquid from the mint leaves and tea bags. Mix in the honey and juice from half of the lemon into the tea. Transfer to a pitcher and cool to room temperature before refrigerating.

    Slice the second half of the lemon. When ready to serve, add 1 to 2 lemon slices into each glass, along with a few mint leaves and ice cubes. Once the tea has cooled, pour it into the glasses and serve.

    Recipe Notes

    If your bags of green tea have paper tags, remove them before steeping so the tags don't fall off into the water.

    STEP 1: Put loose green tea, fresh mint, and water in a pitcher or glass container.

    To make 2 cups of iced tea, I use a teapot with a strainer but if I&rsquom making more, I like to use a cold brew pitcher which comes with an infuser.

    Tea Sommelier&rsquos Tip: Use loose tea or tea sachets to make cold brew iced tea since it&rsquoll taste better than using tea bags.

    STEP 2: Cover pitcher and put in refrigerator for at least 6 hours.

    With black tea and oolong tea, I cold brew for up to 12 hours, but for green tea, it&rsquos a little more delicate and doesn&rsquot require such a long steep time.

    STEP 3: Strain out solids and pour tea into a cup with ice.

    If you want to sweeten your iced tea, use simple syrup (half water, half sugar). It&rsquoll be the easiest to incorporate into your tea.

    You can make quick simple syrup at home by mixing equal parts sugar and hot water until the sugar dissolves.

    A refreshing zinger: Iced Jasmine Mint Green Tea

    It is so hot outside I can hardly function. Almost 80 degrees outside and no air conditioning inside. At least I was somewhat productive by managing to get outside and water my garden while my kids enjoyed the sprinkler. I was so happy to see so my mint thriving I decided to make a pitcher of one of my favorite types of iced tea, jasmine-mint-lemon-honey-and green tea. Yes I know the post title doesn’t mention the lemon or honey, but it would have been too long to include them. But trust me, the lemon and honey are just as important as the tea bags themselves. If you don’t like jasmine, mint, or green tea you may be surprised by this recipe, especially on ice. Perfect for National Iced Tea Day tomorrow. It is a zinger! Enjoy.

    Iced Jasmine Mint Green Tea Recipe with Honey and Lemon
    Makes 1 gallon.

    4 green tea bags
    4 jasmine tea bags
    3-6″ sprigs of mint
    1 lemon cut into slices
    1/2 cup of honey
    8 cups of water
    8 cups of ice

    In a medium pan add 8 cups of water, tea bags and honey. Boil for 5 minutes and turn off heat. Add mint sprigs to the pan and allow everything to steep for 15 minutes.

    Remove tea bags and pour the tea and mint into a gallon sized pitcher filled with ice and lemon slices. Enjoy!

    Sidenotes: This tea isn’t overly sweet and if you prefer a more sweeter tea, add sugar.

    Ice cold Homemade Sweet Watermelon Iced Tea Recipe. The perfect spring and summer beverage!

    The other day sweet iced tea, but not any of the store bought stuff. I wanted homemade iced tea! Initially I decided to make some old fashioned southern iced tea, but I remembered that I had some watermelon. So why not make a pitcher of fresh watermelon iced tea?! It sounds good right? Well let me tell you, that good is a understatement. This iced tea was freaking BOMB!!

    For my watermelon iced tea, I used a super sweet fresh watermelon. I scooped out all the sweet red flesh from the watermelon, and liquified it in my food processor ( a blender can be used!), then I add sugar, and made a watermelon syrup!

    As far as tea. I used regular black tea. You can use any brand of back tea that you want. Just make sure that it is nice quality, otherwise it may taste weak, and your watermelon iced tea will just taste like watermelon juice.
