Big Chicago Pizza

Ingredients for Making Big Chicago Pizza

For the test you will need:

  1. Premium wheat flour 3 cups
  2. Dry yeast 10 gr.
  3. Sugar 3 teaspoons
  4. Salt 3 tsp
  5. Warm water (approximately 40 degrees) 1 cup
  6. Vegetable oil 4 tbsp. spoons

For the sauce you will need:

  1. Canned Tomatoes 200 gr.
  2. Dried oregano 1 tsp
  3. Dried Basil 1 tsp
  4. Garlic 1 clove
  5. Olive oil 2 tbsp. spoons
  6. Parmesan 100 gr.
  7. Salt 1 teaspoon without slide

For the filling you will need:

  1. Zucchini 1 pc.
  2. Eggplant 1 pc.
  3. Bulgarian pepper 1 pc.
  4. Onion 1 pc.
  5. Mozzarella cheese 200 gr.

Making Big Chicago Pizza:

Step 1: Prepare the pizza dough.

Initially, sift the flour into a large bowl, then add dry yeast, salt and sugar to it. Mix the ingredients a little, after which we make a depression in the middle of the flour, into which we pour the vegetable oil and warm water. Next, thoroughly mix the mass until the dough begins to move away from the walls of the bowl. Knead the dough with your hands very carefully, even a little with effort, more than 5 minutes. In the end, it should become soft and uniform (smooth consistency). In this form we cover it with a clean kitchen towel and leave it to come in a warm place for 1.5 hours.

Step 2: Prepare the ingredients.

Peppers are peeled from the stalk and from the seed core, and then washed well. Cut the pepper in half, after which each part is cut into strips. Next, peel the onion and rinse it with zucchini and eggplant. Cut clean vegetables into small cubes. Pour olive oil into the pan, then add vegetables (pepper, onion, zucchini and eggplant) to it and fry the ingredients over medium heat until they become soft. The mixture must be stirred on fire periodically so that the vegetables do not burn. Then remove the pan from the heat and cool the filling. Meanwhile, grate the mozzarella cheese and mix it with chilled vegetables.

Step 3: Prepare the pizza sauce.

We chop the tomatoes with a knife, mix them with grated Parmesan and garlic, crushed using a special press. Add salt, oregano, basil and olive oil. Mix the ingredients well and get the original Chicago pizza sauce.

Step 3: We form and bake the product.

A suitable dough is necessary split into 2 parts. But one of them should be slightly larger than the other. We roll out a large one into a thin sheet in size exceeding the plane of the form. We in turn lubricate it with oil (moreover, the sides must also be greased). We lay this sheet on the bottom of the mold and press it tightly. In this case, it is necessary to cover with this sheet not only the bottom, but also the sides. Next, spread the filling evenly on the dough. The second part of the dough must be rolled into a sheet, which should be in size as the bottom of the form. We put it on the filling and fasten it with our fingers to the dough that is on the sides of the form. We pierce the top sheet of dough with a fork in some places. This is necessary so that the steam can escape and the pizza is well baked inside. Next, grease pizza with sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese. Preheat the oven to a temperature 200 degrees. We send our product inside and bake for 40 minutes. The surface of the pizza should be well browned.

Step 4: Serve the great Chicago pizza.

We take out the prepared pizza from the oven, cool it to a warm state or to room temperature and serve. It is necessary to cut it from the center to the edge (according to the cake principle) with a very sharp knife with a long blade. You can decorate the product with sprigs of fresh herbs. Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- - If parmesan and mozzarella are the types of cheese that you cannot afford, then you can replace them with cheaper varieties of hard cheese. The taste and quality of the food will not suffer much from this.

- - Zucchini and eggplant do not need to be peeled only if the vegetables are young. If they are already quite grown and the skin on raw products is quite tough, then it is better to get rid of it.

- - At will, you can make more layers with filling. But in this case, increase the amount of dough made, as well as the filling. And keep in mind that in this case, the necessary time for baking a dish should be increased, since pizza will become larger in height.
